Anita Shreve’s The Pilot’s Wife was the most recent book read by the book club members and all were eager to discuss it at the last meeting on November 15th. Despite the writer’s popularity, The Pilot’s Wife provided most members with their first taste of Shreve’s writing. It was apparent that the book made an impression as many expressed an interest in reading her other titles. Shreve is the author of many best-selling novels. The book was, in fact, made into a serial drama in 2002 – so our members were right in assuming they had seen a film which offered a suspiciously similar plot!
