All you writing enthusiasts out there may be interested to hear that Tipperary Libraries are holding a short story competition. The competition is open to adults and senior cycle secondary school students (transition year and above). The winner will be chosen by best-selling novelist Frank Delaney and will receive a cash prize of €200.

Fortunately, Peter Berresford Ellis, has brought the whole period to life by writing a series of books under the pen name Peter Tremayne on the adventures of a nun – Sr. Fidelma in the seventh century. The nun-sleuth Sister Fidelma has brought an enormous amount of publicity to the town of Cashel and deserves to be recognised for her efforts.
There were about thirty five guests present to listen to and question Peter Berresford Ellis, who is a historian, literary biographer and novelist who has published over 90 books to date under his own name and his pseudonym Peter Tremayne. A prolific writer, who is enthused by knowledge, Peter certainly educated the crowd.

After what has been a very successful summer reading promotion in Nenagh Library, all children who have reading tree forms to return are requested to have them back to the library by Wednesday 10th September. The presentation of Reading Certificates and Medals will take place at Nenagh Library on Saturday 13th September between 11:00am and 1:00pm.
