The warm sunshine added to the festive atmosphere, which abounded at Borrisokane Library last Saturday, 12th September. From early morning the excitement was palpable as parents and children, many proudly wearing the Tipperary jersey, arrived for the annual presentation of medals and certificates awarded at the end of the ‘Summer Reading Tree’ initiative. This project promoted by Tipperary Libraries has become a huge part of summer reading for children in the Borrisokane area. Green, silver and gold leaves weighed down the tree painted by local girl, Ciara Egan, a tribute to the juvenile members and their parents who actively encouraged them to read.
