Liam Sheedy launches “A Guide to Community Life in County Tipperary”
“A Guide to Community Life in Co. Tipperary” is a booklet packed with useful information on various aspects of community life in the towns and villages of our county. Mr Liam Sheedy, Manager of the Senior Tipperary Hurling team, launched the guide at the Source Centre in the new library in Thurles on Tuesday 10th November.
Initially it was hoped that this guide would help newcomers to the county to have an understanding of community groups
Popular children’s author Alan Durant recently entertained the 5th and 6th class pupils from Scoil Eoin Naofa at Roscrea Library. Alan’s visit was part of Tipperary Libraries’ celebration of Childrens Book Festival 2009 which took place during the month of October. Alan spoke about and read from his variety of different books, and his poetry drew a lot of laughs from the pupils. His explanation of his writing techniques really impressed the class and his
