Roscrea Library was a hive of activity on Wednesday December 9th when 4th class pupils from Scoil Eoin Naofa joined us for a French Language Learning session with native French speaker Fanny Healy-Bernard. Fanny gave the children an introduction to the French language using games, music and song. It was an entertaining and educational session – they learned some of the basics including greetings, numbers and colours. All the pupils involved showed great enthusiasm and all were eager to demonstrate their new words and phrases complete with impressive French accents! There was great excitement on Wednesday November 25th with Roscrea Library’s celebration of Science Week. Rosie Campbell captivated her audience at Scoil Chronáin Naofa, Dromakeenan. Pupils from 1st, 2nd and 3rd class were in for a treat with Rosie’s unusual companions. An African pygmy hedgehog, a snake, a lizard and an owl were introduced to the group of enthusiastic children. A sea of hands shot up with each question Rosie asked based on the information she had given about the animals. Everyone had an opportunity to hold the animals, so Rosie’s show both delighted and enlightened the pupils. Such a close
