Cahir library held an open day on Sat 28th Nov. It was a great success with over 40 new members joining up. Tina did face painting and Ann did storytime and singalong. Lots of parents enjoyed meeting up and chatting over coffee, knowing the children were safe and being entertained. There was a free raffle for them as well, with chocs and wine on offer. Photo Exhibition Cashel Library “Drive With Care – Be Disability Aware”
The HSE supported “Cashel Gold Star Project” launched the “Drive With Care – Be Disability Aware” Disability Awareness photograph exhibition at Cashel Library on Wednesday December 2nd at 12.15pm to highlight Disability Awareness Week. Fran Curry from Tipp FM broadcasted live from the library. The exhibition will be the library for the month to allow people to vote for their favourite image
The exhibition was officially opened by Ms. Carol Moore (the HSE’s Area Coordinator for Disability Services, South Tipperary).
The project came about as a result of rising concern in the community about the inappropriate use of accessible parking spaces and the practice of parking on footpaths. The photographs capture a number of parking scenarios that inhibit universal access for all in our community. Each of the images and scenarios on exhibit were staged and set up for the purpose of the photo shoots.
