Tipperary Libraries Schools Library Department was delighted to receive a donation of €2,500 from Co. Tipperary Education Support Centre recently in recognition of the services provided to primary schools throughout the county .  In existence since the 1980s, Co. Tipperary Education Support Centre is a part-time information and advice centre whose aim is to listen to and respond to the needs of teachers and the wider schools community, while supporting the personal and professional development of educators.

The Schools Library Service, which is based in the Co. Library Headquarters at Castle Ave. in Thurles, provides a comprehensive countywide mobile library service to all rural primary schools. The service also provides ‘block loans’ for teachers and schools running reading programmes such as shared reading, paired reading and reading recovery. Class Novels are available for 3rd – 6th class and loans to resource and special needs teachers are also available from  a fantastic  range of stock which includes publications from Wolf Hill, Barrington Stoke, Wellington Square, Fuzz Buzz, Sports Zone and much more.
