Over the weekend of 22-24 July three North Tipperary Volunteer Fairs were held in Thurles, Roscrea and Nenagh. Organised to celebrate 2011 as the European Year of Volunteering they were a great success.
In Thurles alone, over 20 groups set up their stalls in Thurles Shopping Centre. With organisations such as the Citizen’s Information Centre, the Fáilte Club, An Taisce, Irish Girl Guides and many more, shoppers passing by, some amazing balloons and free spot prizes, there was a real carnival atmosphere to be enjoyed.
