Best-selling author, Alice Taylor, was in Thurles Library on Wednesday 7th May, where she impressed her eager fans and made many more fans along the way. Alice spoke with eloquence and passion about her first memoir, To School Through the Fields, which she interspersed with readings from her books. She spoke about recording the life of ordinary people and how it’s important to her, especially considering how life has changed considerably over one generation. She told how her children laughed when she told them of her own childhood, a childhood without electricity and when jumping in warm cow pats brought unadulterated joy!

To School Through the Fields is the biggest selling book ever published in Ireland to date. You can find it, and more of Alice’s titles, in your local library.
