This story is about a lady who sailed ships off the west coast of Ireland. Granuaile was the pirate queen. She robbed and captured ships who entered the seas in her area. In this book, she wrote letters to her son about her adventures as she sailed so that he could understand who she was and that she always loved him even though she was called a pirate queen.
