Alan Wells Artist at Wolfhound Studios put up a small exhibition in Carrick-on-Suir Library (larger show in South Tipperary Arts Centre in July). If you’re in or around Carrick please pop in and have a look.

 “Landscapes and Portraits”

Landscapes:
Inspired by the work of great contemporary artists such as Josh Keyes and The Art of Brin Levinson, this is a series of paintings based on local landscapes viewed from a somewhat surreal/dystopian future.
Although there is no specific literal meaning ascribed to the pieces, they are a comment on possible outcomes based on a continuation of current trends in environmental issues e.g. climate change, deforestation, fossil fuel consumption, misguided governmental policies etc.

Portraits:
Some pieces from a “just for fun” series based on famous portraits by well known artists re-imagined as animals.
