Michael Smith, author of “the Ice Man”, invited the students of Crehana and the Gaelscoil to join him on a journey across the Antarctic, telling the adventure of Tom Crean in Carrick library. Showing an array of photos of Tom and the Antarctic, he described the harsh conditions and the life, experienced by few people. A question and answer session just showed the students interests and amazement at the subject, leaving many in awe as they returned to their cosy classrooms.
