Cashel library was a hive of activity on Saturday the 18th of July. As part of the Cashelised festival, the library hosted a storytelling session with Maria O’Shaughnessy and Mary Walsh. A large crowd came to hear the stories, which were taken from the National Schools Folklore Collection, compiled by school children in 1937-1938, and based in Cashel and the surrounding areas. After the storytelling, Alexander Staats, aged 13 and from Newsouthwales, held a poetry recital while his sister Rebbeca, 16, provided accompanying music. The afternoon was a great success, and was enjoyed by everyone.
