Clonmel Library hosted three author visits for this year’s Children’s Book Festival.
Aidan Courtney
Aidan is an accomplished graphic artist. He created a storyboard with the thirty seven students who attended the workshop. He encouraged and assisted the students to do their own story in a graphic format. There was some amazing talent on display. Both Aidan and the students had a fantastic session, the latter were totally inspired when leaving.
Ré O’Laighleis
Ré spoke about the writer in all of us. He shared his experience and tips about what and how to write. His talk was very interesting and informative for the forty Ty students who attended.
Shane Hegarty
Author of the two Darkmouth novels, Shane Hegarty entertained six classes from local primary schools. The students were treated to an enrgetic interactive show with slides and lots of funny moments. They even did their own re-enactment of the Hydra. It was a wonderful opportunity for the school children is see and hear from a new Irish children’s writer.
