In Shan’s ninth book of the Demonata series, Kernel is a disciple fighting to prevent demons from entering and destroying our universe. Kernel is taken on a journey to many different worlds and places, each one more amazing and strange than the previous. Shan’s vivid imagery and gory detail is recommended for readers 12+. Dark Calling explains many of the mysteries of the series, and sets up the next and final book. Overall, it’s a fast-paced thrill ride, with some very original twists.
