Jamie’s Mum turned into an elephant! Will she still be able to make his favourite hot chocolate? Help him put on his coat? Or even drive a car? Loud laughter allowed! These and many more fun questions will be answered with hilarious stories told by storyteller Simone Schuemmelfeder. Using pictures and props like the table theatre Kamishibai and the feet of an enormous giant (complete with hairy toes!), Simone’s stories will tickle your funny bone and imagination!

12:30pm: The Prince Who Married A Frog – Fantastic Tales for 7-12 year olds

Drawing on mythology and folklore from different cultures, storyteller Simone Schuemmelfeder takes her listeners all over the world on a journey full of adventures, mischief and dreams. Come and learn about the prince who married a frog in Italy, how a lion was defeated by a rabbit in Africa and how many stars it takes to cover the Polish sky in this engaging storytelling session.

A storytelling session for the whole family with riddles and lots of fun.

2:00pm:  Story-Workshop: Revolting Villains! For 7-12 year olds.

Just think of Miss Trunchbull, the horrible principal in Dahl’s book “Matilda”!

Who is your favourite villain? In this workshop we will take a closer look at story-villains and figure out what it is that makes them so memorable. Then we will create our own revolting villain and write a story for him or her. Will our villains succeed in their evil plans? Or will they be stopped in the most embarrassing and horrible way? It is up to you!

Roald Dahl, C.S. Lewis, J.K. Rowling – they all knew what every good story needs: A great villain.
