SUMMARY:Templemore Library - The Roscrea Creative Art Group Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:The Roscrea Creative Art Group are now exhibiting their paintings in the Templemore Library. The exhibition was launched on Thursday evening\, 10th November and there was a lovely turn out of people to view the works and enjoy a glass of wine. Aisling Hassett\, a renowned local artist opened the exhibition and had some lovely words to say about the paintings\, the students and their tutor Caoimhe Arrigan. The exhibition comprises of 53 paintings and is a mixture of landscapes\, seascapes and animal portraits in various media including oil on canvas\, acrylic and some pastel work. Some of the paintings are for sale and would make a lovely Christmas Gift for someone \nThe Roscrea Creative Art Group is based in Roscrea and is funded by the North Tipperary Leader Partnership. It was started by Caoimhe Arrigan and Dave Carter in 2009 and has seen many successful exhibitions over the years. It is a mixed age group of artists from 20’s to 80’s\, some of whom come from the St.Cronans Association. Some have been with the group since 2009 and others have joined along the way\, some even as recent as this year. They have exhibited in Roscrea several times as a group and some individuals have shown their work in Birr and Tullamore as well. The aim of creating this group was both for educational and social purposes and it has led to strong friendships being formed among people who might not necessarily have met otherwise. Painting can also have its therapeutic purposes so while a student can be chatty and giggly on one day\, another day they might quietly immerse themselves in their picture for several hours. One thing is for sure and that is that each student past and present has worked hard to develop their talent and Caoimhes advice and tips have always been met with open mindedness and enthusiasm…(well almost always..more so after coffee break). And now all that hard work and commitment by you the Roscrea Creative Art group can be seen on the walls and in the display cabinets in the Templemore Library.　 \nFor information on art classes phone NTLP\, Roscrea 0505 23379 \n  \n
