The Book Bunch met on February 3rd to talk about this month’s book A Boy called Hope by Lara Williamson. A lovely, moving and funny book with a beautiful message about hopes and dreams and how sometimes, if you take a closer look, the world around you may not be as bad as you thought. Dan Hope (a name which our members observed really suits our main character) has a wish list – the top of which is to be reunited with his Dad, who has left the family years before. Our members felt the book was about “loss and remembrance”; they commented that it was “interesting and funny” – it made them laugh and cry and the character of Dan Hope was a big hit with all the members. A Boy called Hope gets a score of 4/5 from our readers.
