The Summer Reading Adventure kicked off at Nenagh Library on Friday June 30th with a visit from the Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government. Alan spoke to the Junior Infant pupils of St. Mary’s Convent Primary School about their favourite books and read them a story. The county librarian, Jess Codd, was also present on the day to mark the beginning of the summer reading challenge. The staff of Nenagh Library wish to thank the Minister for taking the time to encourage the children to participate in the Reading Adventure – the children were really excited by the visit. You can pick up an entry form at the library throughout July and August – we are looking for help in filling our pirate’s chest with treasure. Our readers will be rewarded with a gold coin to place in the chest for every book they read throughout the summer. All participants who read six books and return their entry forms will later be invited to our Pirate Fun Day on Saturday October 3rd to celebrate their achievement.
