Tipperary Libraries have many clubs and societies run by the library staff, also may clubs and societies use the library as a meeting place. Please contact your local library for details and help with setting up a club or group.
BOOK CLUB-IN-A-BAG

Tipperary Libraries are delighted to announce the launch of an innovative new service to the public.
Because book clubs/groups are now so popular Tipperary Libraries have decided to make it easy for you to set up a book club with a group of friends, work mates, neighbours, family etc.
Book clubs give you the opportunity to share your thoughts, likes and dislikes about the books you are reading or get ideas for your next read.
Tipperary Libraries can now provide you with an instant book club kit. We will supply you with everything you need to start up a group:
Call to your local library in
Cahir, Carrick On Suir, Cashel, Clonmel, Killenaule, Nenagh, Roscrea, Templemore, Thurles, Tipperary
for all the details.
Book Club-In-A-Bag

What is in the Book Club bag?
- 6 copies of the same title.
- Review and discussion notes.
- Author information.
- A full list of the titles available.
- Guidance notes on how to set up and run a book club.
How does it work?
- Any member of a book club can borrow a Book Club kit from their local library
- You can keep the kit for 6 weeks
- The bag and all its contents must be returned Together
- The person who borrows the kit is responsible for all the contents
- You can reserve a particular title by giving at least 8 weeks advance notice
- Enjoy your reading and discussions
BOOK CLUB IN A BAG TITLES TO CHOOSE FROM
Here are a selection of some of the clubs available through the Tipperary Libraries Branch Network:
Carrick-on- Suir Library
- Meeting of Carers Association, first Tuesday of every month.
- Outreach service to asylum seekers & refugees, meeting last Thursday of every month.
- Computer and reading facilities for Comeragh College.
- Outreach to CBS Secondary school and Mercy Convent Secondery School.
Cashel
- The Spafield Resource Centre After School Club
- Cashel Book club
- Storytime for preschoolers, Wednesday mornings from 11.15am to 11.45am
- Cashel Library holds monthly exhibitions. For anyone interested in finding out what exhibition is currently running or booking space please contact Cashel Library.
Clonmel Library
- Storytime every Thursday
- 3-5years 4-4.30pm
- 6-8years 4.30-5pm
- Adult Book Circle meet on the 2nd Monday of each month
- Juvenile Book Invaders meet every 2nd Tuesday 4-5pm, 8-12years
- Music In The Library, Wednesdays 7.30pm-9pm (resumes in the autumn)
- Women's Discussion Group, Wednesdays 10.15-12.00pm
Tipperary Studies
Nenagh
- Active Retirement Club, Thursday afternoon from 2.00 pm - 4.30 pm.
- Artists meet on a Mondays and spend a couple of hours painting in the Exhibition space
- Class visits from local primary and secondary schools, contact branch to arrange visits
- Exhibtion room used by local artists to display their work.
Templemore
- Class visits from local primary and secondary schools, contact branch to arrange visits
- Book Club meet the last Thursday of every month at 6:45pm - 7:45pm
- Preschoolers Storytime every Friday from 11:00am - 11:30am
Thurles
- Class visits from local primary and secondary schools, contact branch to arrange visits
- Thurles Book Club meet on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. New members are always welcome.
- Juvenile Book Clubs for 7-9 year olds and 10-12 year olds meet once a month. Contact Thurles Library for more information.
