Teachers' Resource Service
Ráiteas Bunchuspóra Leabharlanna Thiobraid Árann i leith na Gaeilge
This service was established to support the Special Needs and Learning Support staff in the primary schools in County Tipperary. The aim of the service is to provide teachers with varied and quality material that can help children of all ages from infants to 6 th class, with all sorts of learning and reading difficulties.
This service is extremely popular and is utilised by over 180 teachers, many of whom visit several times a year to exchange books and try out different material. Loan allocation depends on the number of pupils a teacher has and the variety of their abilities and ages. However, every effort is made to make sure each teacher gets what they need from the service.
The service is flexible, appointments can be made anytime throughout the year including July and August. However, the majority of teachers use the service in September and October. Where possible, teachers are advised to come to Thurles to choose their books. However, if it is not possible, please contact Emer O'Brien on 0504 21555 to make a request for books which can be delivered to a branch library near you.

Language Towards Literacy was developed to provide teachers of Junior and Senior Infants with a structured, step-by-step developmental programme, tailored to the needs of young children. Bunaíodh an SAF chun tacaíocht a thabhairt don fhoireann Fheabhais agus Foghlama sna bunscoileanna i gContae Thiobraid Árann. Tá sé mar aidhm ag an seirbhís ábhair éagsúla maithe a thabhairt do mhúinteoirí le cabhair a thabhairt do pháistí ó aois na naíonán go dtí Rang a Sé le gach aon chineál bac foghlama agus léitheoireachta.
Tá an-tóir ar an seirbhís agus úsáideann os cionn 120 múinteoir é. Buaileann cuid acu isteach air go minic sa bhliain chun leabhair a mhalartú agus abhair éagsúla a thriáil. Braitheann leithdháileadh na hiasachta ar líon na ndaltaí atá ag múinteoir agus ar an gcumas agus aois atá acu. Déanfar gach iarracht, áfach, cinntiú go bhfaigheann gach múinteoir atá uathu ón seirbhís.
Tá an seirbhís solúbtha, is féidir coinne a dhéanamh aon am sa bhliain, Iúil agus Lúnasa i measc sin. Úsáideann formhór na múinteoirí i Meán Fómhair agus i nDeireadh Fómhair é. Chomh fada agus gur féidir, iarrtar ar mhúinteoirí teacht go Durlas chun a leabhair a roghnú. Munar féidir, cuir glaoch ar Ellen Kilmartin ar 0504 21555 chun leabhair a iarradh a chuirfear chuig brainse leabharlainne cógarach duitse.
