Thurles Library is opening its doors to the public on Thursday 20th October for a Family Open Day. Parents are encouraged to come along with their children to see the library and resources we have to offer you. Did you know that it’s free for all children to join the library until they leave school? The annual fee for adults is just €7, cheaper than a trip to the cinema! This entitles you access to thousands of books, CD’s, DVS’s, language learning packs, Internet and online resources like Encyclopaedia Britannica. In other words there is something for every member of the family.

Library staff will be on hand to show you around and to answer any questions you may have. The library is a welcoming place no matter how old your child is. We have lots of resources to help your child to read and to stimulate their imagination.

Have you heard about our READable software? We will show you how software such as Read Write Gold and Kurzweil can open up a world of reading and imagination to your child.

Thurles Library Family Open Day is a free event and all are welcome to come along. We really look forward to seeing you here!

The library, which is located in the Source building on Cathedral Street, will be open from 10a.m. to 8.30p.m. on Thursday 20th October. You can contact us on 0504 29720 or check out our blog at www.tipperarylibrarynews.ie
