On Wednesday October 15th in the Excel Theatre, Tipperary Town. Tipperary Libraries hosted the renowned author Michael Smith as part of the Children’s Book Festival.

There were over 200 chidren present, along with their teachers, representing 11 schools. Gerardine Hughes Branch Librarian Tipperary Town and Mary McCormack Thurles HQ assisted by staff from Excel Centre managed the event on the day and ensured everyone got their book signed and had a very enjoyable time.

Afterwards Michael answered many questions which the children had and later posed with them for photographs. They all left very pleased with the event and returned to their warm classrooms not Antartica, but who knows the spirit of the adventure may have been awakened in Tipperary town on a dull autumn day.
