We were again delighted to welcome the 2019 Tipperary Dance Platform International Festival to Thurles Library, when on Thursday 10 October Ares D’Angelo perfomed Karine Pontie’s ‘Fovea’ for 3rd class pupils from Scoil Angela, Thurles. Ares threw himself headlong into a mesmerising performance of “struggle and abandon”, and afterwards the pupils enjoyed a workshop celebrating rhythm and movement.

Thanks to the pupils of Scoil Angela and, of course, a first class dance production team for another wonderful dance event in Thurles Library. The TDP International Festival affords us a rare opportunity to showcase the art of dance in our library, and we are already looking forward to the 2020 Festival.
