We had a great evening in Templemore Library for our ‘Glimpse of Ukrainian History’ presentation by Luda and Natalia. This Friday, October 14th marks four Ukrainian national holidays: The Day of Ukrainian Cossacks, Intercession of the Theotokos (A Christian Feast Day), The Founding of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, and The Defenders Day. Luda and Natalia shared a bit about Ukrainian History and the significance of these holidays. We were also treated to Ukrainian Kulish, a millet porridge which was cooked by the Cossacks during military campaigns.

A huge thank you to all who attended, including Cllr. Peggy Ryan, Cathaoirleach of Thurles-Templemore Muncipal District. And of course, an extra big thank you to the brilliant Luda & Natalia for sharing their history and culture with us.
