This year for Irish Book Week, Clonmel Library ‘zoomed’ into the classroom with a virtual visit to some of the local primary schools.

As things are a little different this year, we didn’t want to miss out on celebrating one of our favourite weeks, as any chance to celebrate books and reading is an opportunity to celebrate in our eyes!! We organised a Zoom quiz with four 2nd class groups from around the town and asked them to read a class novel in advance of the class quiz. Our quiz was based on the book the class were reading and we sent out small prizes for the winning teams.

Sisters of Charity – ‘Fantastic Mr. Fox’ by Roald Dahl.

St. Oliver’s N.S. – ‘Norman the Norman from Normandy’ by Philip Ardagh.

St. Mary’s C.B.S. – ‘Nellie Choc-Ice: Penguin Explorer’ by Jeremy Strong.

Presentation Primary School – ‘The Hodgeheg’ by Dick King-Smith.

Thanks so much to all the teachers and students for taking part. We hope you enjoyed our Irish Book Week quiz!!
