Cruinniú na nÓg took place last Saturday 15th June in Thurles library. It was a very busy day from early morning and thankfully the sun shone brightly for all our events! Clowning Around was hosted by Danielle Martin with plenty of laughter and fun incorporated into her workshop. Sarah Sparkles kept all our young readers enthralled in her story-time session. Music, puppets and a bubble machine all featured on the morning! Roll up, roll up was the call of the Wobbly Circus who entertained with their fun circus skills demonstration which included knife juggling a huge hit among the children and not to be tried at home! Paul & Claire also hosted a wonderful circus skills workshop giving the children time to practice juggling, tight-wire walking and plate spinning! Sophie from the mobile music school had a huge audience for her music sessions! Sophie brought along lots of instruments and raised the gallery roof to the rhythm of drums! Lots of wonderful drawings took over the boardwalk Saturday as the Pavement Art took place in the afternoon sun! Daisy the Cow was our novelty event and lots of the children took part in our Milk the Cow in 60 seconds! Unfortunately the librarians did not do a very good job on milking poor Daisy! Finally Niall O’Dwyer “The Mad Professor”  brought plenty of experiments, laughter and fun not only to the children in the audience but to the parents as well. Niall hosted two science shows with us and proved to be a huge hit with everyone! Thanks to all the parents who brought the children along to the family day we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!
