As part of The Children’s Book Festival Thurles library were delighted to welcome well known children’s authors Dave Rudden and Cat Doyle. The auditorium hosted 200 children and their teachers as they were greeted by Cat and Dave who spoke about their books.  Cat’s book The Stormkeeper’s Island is set on the island of Arranmore following the magical journey of Fionn Boyle.  Dave introduced his series The Knights of the Borrowed Dark about an orphan boy who discovers he is part of a secret army that protects the world from a race of shadowy monsters. ( A big it with the boys in the Thurles 10-12 book club). There was plenty of laughter throughout the morning as both authors engaged with the children and ended by asking each other embarrassing questions from the “Horn of Truth”.Thanks to Cat and Dave for a highly entertaining morning and to the children of the Presentation Primary, Scoil Angela & Scoil Mochaomhóg Naofa Two-Mile-Borris for their participation in this event. Cat & Dave’s books are available to borrow from the library!
