Tony Oakey Exhibition at Clonmel Library

September 27, 2022 @ 9:30 am - October 8, 2022 @ 5:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 9:30 am, repeating indefinitely

27th Sept – 8th Oct 2022

Tony is from Piltown in South Kilkenny.  He started painting in 1992 and has worked as a professional artist since 2000. He exhibits regularly throughout Ireland and his work can be found in many private and corporate collections around the world.

Awards include a residency at the world famous Cill Rialaig Artists Project in Ballinskelligs, Co. Kerry.

Tony’s colourful and unique oil paintings are inspired by the fantastic Irish landscape and his keen interests in astronomy and nature.  A combination of these interests mixed with his many moods and the music he is listening to will all subconsciously contribute to the painting in progress.

This way of working opens up Tony’s mind to a world of discovery where there are no rules reasons or explanations, a place where there are no boundaries between imagination and reality. He describes his work as “Surreal expressions of thoughts and daydreams”

Tony has shown his paintings numerous times in Clonmel Library and this year he will also have his new collection of framed limited edition prints on display, the perfect gift for every occasion.
