SUMMARY:Threads of Home
DESCRIPTION:Roscrea Library is delighted to host a beautiful exhibition of a collaborative appliqué quilt created by the QQI level 4 Design part-time learners at Roscrea Education Centre.  Each participant was invited to explore the concept of “home” through fabric and stitch\, crafting an individual piece that represents a personal space of comfort\, belonging or significance. \n  \nThis quilt is not just a collection of sewn fabric: it is a collective expression of identity\, memory and place.  Each appliqué square tells a unique story\, yet when stitched together\, they form a larger narrative of shared experiences and community.  The process of creating this piece reflects on the intertwining of personal histories identities\, and the sense of home that unites us all. \n  \nAs an artwork\, Threads of Home is an exploration of how we define ourselves through the spaces we inhabit and the connections we forge with others.  It stands as a tribute to the strengths of women’s voices and the power of creative expression. \n  \nThis fabulous collection will be on display in Roscrea Library until 1st May 2025

SUMMARY:Artist of the Month Nenagh Library Terriesa Torode Exhibition "Nature's Palette".
DESCRIPTION:Nenagh Library will host Terriesa Torode’s exhibition\, “Nature’s Palette\,” from March 1st to March 31st\, 2025.\nThe Official Launch is on Tuesday\, March 11th\, 2025\, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM\nWhy not “Meet the Artist” on Monday\, March 10th\, 2025\, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM or Tuesday\, March 18th\, 2025\, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM\nTerriesa Torode is an English-born self-taught artist based in Ireland. Her background knowledge is rooted in horticulture where\, for over 30 years\, she became known and popular as a self-employed horticulturist\, garden designer\, and journalist throughout Co. Tipperary. These many years of experience allowed her to obtain membership to the Chartered Institute of Horticulture (M.C.I HORT).\nTerriesa’s inspiration stems primarily from nature. She takes great delight in noticing shapes\, colours\, and textures of leaves. Admiring distant valleys and mountains\, trees\, flowers\, and wildlife. Terriesa chose to challenge herself by exploring new illustrative styles.\nThis is Terriesa’s first exhibition in almost a decade having previously presented in Nenagh Library with her collection of painted acrylic slates. This exhibition “” explores mythological and natural scenes using watercolour and acrylic paint.\nIn 2022\, while sitting at the beach\, Terriesa was inspired to create a mermaid painting. This ended up being titled “Tranquillity” and is being showcased at this exhibition. From there\, Terriesa added more details to her illustrated scenes\, diving deeper into the depths of her skillset.\nThere are themes of comfort and peace throughout her work and are all very personal to Terriesa’s journey and experiences. There are also themes of dreamy mythology which Terriesa finds extremely inspiring.\n“From here\, I want to further experiment with textures of rocks and leaves. I strive for self-improvement in everything I do\, whether in the garden\, or on a canvas or paper. I very much hope you enjoy the exhibition I have been working on and piecing together over the last two years. If you enjoy my work a fraction as much as I have enjoyed this journey to-date\, then I will be extremely proud of my efforts.
Wishing you much fun exploring the rockpools\, coves\, castles\, and meadows of my memories.” \n

Wishing you much fun exploring the rockpools\, coves\, castles\, and meadows of my memories.” \n
