SUMMARY:Decoupage Candle display by Helen Scott in Nenagh Library
DESCRIPTION:Helen Scott\, originally from Laois but living in Nenagh for the past 20 years\, is our latest exhibitor in Nenagh library.\nBelieving that retirement offers the chance to re-invent oneself\, Helen took up decoupage\, working particularly with candles. In her own words ‘Most of our lives are spent doing tasks we have to do rather than what we want to do. I have found something I love to do and it gives me great joy. As we grow older we need to stay passionate about those things that bring us joy\, that keeps us connected to this world.’ She has a philosophical view of her craft – candles see us into this world and lead us out of it\, being present at both birth and death. They are used to celebrate all the milestones in our lives.\nThe social aspect of it is another unexpected bonus and Helen’s candles were popular sellers at the local Christmas markets this year\, something which she enjoyed hugely. With Valentine’s Day coming up soon\, she expects to be busy with sales.\nThis display will be in Nenagh library until the end of February \nHelen Scott Decoupage Candles 086 3816180 \nLarge candle €10\nSmall Candle €5

As we grow older we need to stay passionate about those things that bring us joy\, that keeps us connected to this world.’ She has a philosophical view of her craft – candles see us into this world and lead us out of it\, being present at both birth and death. They are used to celebrate all the milestones in our lives.\nThe social aspect of it is another unexpected bonus and Helen’s candles were popular sellers at the local Christmas markets this year\, something which she enjoyed hugely. SUMMARY:Decoupage Candle display by Helen Scott in Nenagh Library
DESCRIPTION:Helen Scott\, originally from Laois but living in Nenagh for the past 20 years\, is our latest exhibitor in Nenagh library.\nBelieving that retirement offers the chance to re-invent oneself\, Helen took up decoupage\, working particularly with candles. In her own words ‘Most of our lives are spent doing tasks we have to do rather than what we want to do. I have found something I love to do and it gives me great joy. As we grow older we need to stay passionate about those things that bring us joy\, that keeps us connected to this world.’ She has a philosophical view of her craft – candles see us into this world and lead us out of it\, being present at both birth and death. They are used to celebrate all the milestones in our lives.\nThe social aspect of it is another unexpected bonus and Helen’s candles were popular sellers at the local Christmas markets this year\, something which she enjoyed hugely. SUMMARY:Jacqueline Gartlan Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Clonmel Library are proud to host this new exhibition by Jacqueline Gartlan. Jacqueline is a self-taught oil painter who was chosen as a participant in Sky’s “Portrait Artist of the Year” in 2021. She has previously exhibited in Cahir\, Naas and Dungarvan and has also completed numerous commissions. Describing her work Jacqueline says: “I strive to capture a sense of place or being.  I’m interested in what and who has gone before\, and that influence in the now.  I am also constantly inspired by the beautiful Irish landscape and seascape\, and how the light falls on nature.” Jacqueline’s exhibition will run from the 18th of November to the 30th of November.
