SUMMARY:Nenagh Library Artist of the Month Eileen Kelly
DESCRIPTION:Beauty with Purpose \nArt Exhibition in support of Women’s Aid \nEileen Kelly is a talented artist and a long-standing member of Nenagh Art Club. She has participated in numerous successful group exhibitions. This marks her first solo exhibition at Nenagh Library throughout the month of November. \nThe official launch will take place on Saturday 8 November from 2pm to 4.30pm. \nThe exhibition features 30 acrylic on canvas paintings\, primarily celebrating the beauty of nature and the human experience. The artist captures the essence of flowers\, landscapes\, still life and portraits. \nThere is also a small powerful series of paintings that confronts the suffering of women and children affected by domestic abuse. These works give a voice to those who often suffer in silence\, capturing moments of fear\, pain and vulnerability. The paintings seek to illuminate the issues of domestic abuse and inspire compassion\, understanding and meaningful action for women and children in need. \nAll proceeds from the exhibition will be donated to Women’s Aid. \nEveryone is welcome to attend the launch on the 8 November at Nenagh Library.

SUMMARY:Section d'Or - Séan Walsh Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:This retrospective exhibition celebrates the life and work of Sean Walsh\, an innovative artist whose body of work spans two decades. Sean worked in a variety of media\nincluding stained glass\, crushed stone\, low-relief carving\, acrylics and pastels. At the core of each work lies a skeleton of lines and curves carefully chosen and placed\naccording to the golden section. This mathematical ratio\, found throughout nature\, in art\, architecture\, music and even the cosmos creates shapes that are naturally and\naesthetically attractive to the eye of the beholder. \nSean adopted this mathematical equation as a means of creating balance\, order and symmetry. He believed it’s use in art could make a work look natural\, calming and ‘right’. Themes of music and nature featureheavily in these works and reflect the artist’s lifelong interests and passions. \nThis retrospective offers a powerful testament to Sean’s enduring contribution to art. It encourages the viewer to appreciate both the preciousness of life and the power of art to\ntranscend time and leave a lasting legacy. \nThis exhibition can be viewed during Clonmel library’s opening hours from Monday the 1st of September to Saturday the 13th of September.

SUMMARY:Fódhla A Photography Exhibition at Nenagh Library by Jennifer Banaghan
DESCRIPTION:New photographic exhibition at Nenagh Library by Jennifer Banaghan throughout August.\nOver the past 10 years\, nature therapist and photographer Jennifer Banaghan’s camera has accompanied her on local rambles and adventures farther afield and the resulting exhibition is a collection of moments spent in this wild and beautiful place. Trained with the Viktor Frankl Institute of Ireland\, the Taiga Institute in Finland and as a yoga therapist with Himalaya Yoga Valley\, Jennifer is interested in the human-nature connection\, the many ways it supports our wellbeing\, and what nature needs from us in return.\n\nFódhla is an exploration of the human-nature relationship. The presence of “Fódhla” in the Irish landscape is discussed by John Moriarty as a transcendent quality taken from our mythology. “I asked myself does Ireland have a Dreamtime …Fódhla is Dreamtime.” In Irish mythology Fódhla is one of the three goddesses of Ireland along with her sisters Ériu and Banba. John Moriarty asks if this enchanting presence can still be sensed by those of us who foster relationships with the land today.
