SUMMARY:Fódhla A Photography Exhibition at Nenagh Library by Jennifer Banaghan
DESCRIPTION:New photographic exhibition at Nenagh Library by Jennifer Banaghan throughout August.\nOver the past 10 years\, nature therapist and photographer Jennifer Banaghan’s camera has accompanied her on local rambles and adventures farther afield and the resulting exhibition is a collection of moments spent in this wild and beautiful place. Trained with the Viktor Frankl Institute of Ireland\, the Taiga Institute in Finland and as a yoga therapist with Himalaya Yoga Valley\, Jennifer is interested in the human-nature connection\, the many ways it supports our wellbeing\, and what nature needs from us in return.\n\nFódhla is an exploration of the human-nature relationship. The presence of “Fódhla” in the Irish landscape is discussed by John Moriarty as a transcendent quality taken from our mythology. “I asked myself does Ireland have a Dreamtime …Fódhla is Dreamtime.” In Irish mythology Fódhla is one of the three goddesses of Ireland along with her sisters Ériu and Banba. John Moriarty asks if this enchanting presence can still be sensed by those of us who foster relationships with the land today.

SUMMARY:Paulette O'Donovan - 'Thorn in my side'
DESCRIPTION:‘Thorn in my side’ is a collection of abstract pieces from artist Paulette O’Donovan. \n“There are times in life\, when everything goes well. We have peace in our hearts and minds\, and we ‘float’ along … Not one person though\, gets away with the bad or difficult stuff in life. What has been considered while creating all of these pieces\, has been what materials to use to show tension for example\, or peace and chaos. The colours used to convey these emotions and responses\, have been chosen to match this idea.” – from the Artist Statement. \nPaulette O’Donovan’s ‘Thorn in my Side’ exhibition will be on display in Clonmel library from Tuesday August 5th to Saturday August 16th during the library’s opening hours.

SUMMARY:Timeless Tipperary: Fragments from the Past – An Exhibition by Hugh O’Donnell
DESCRIPTION:Nenagh library will be showcasing the work of photographer Hugh O’Donnell during the month of June. This exhibition\, sponsored by the Tipperary Creative Ireland Fund\, includes landscape photographs of Tipperary\, from majestic castles to humble botháns. Alongside the photographs are snippets of tales either collected by Hugh on his travels around the county or transcribed from The Schools Collection of Irish Folklore by Dúchas. This fascinating exhibition tells the story of our past; it reminds us of those that went before us\, who made their mark on our landscape\, who created and shaped our communities.
