DESCRIPTION:The Marie Keating Foundation will be in Carrick-on-Suir with the Mobile Information Unit in conjunction with the Sean Healy Memorial Library\, Fairgreen\, E32 X860 on Friday 12th April from 10.30am – 3pm.  \nPlease do let the wider community know they are very welcome to visit the Mobile Information Unit. \nThis is a free service and the Registered Nurse will be available to answer questions and provide written information on the main cancers\, the 3 cancer screening programmes in Ireland as well as provide cancer prevention information. \nPlease note\, there is no screening offered on the day and no fundraising activity will be going on. \nBetween 11am – 12pm there will be a talk in the library entitled Your Health Your Choice (The Pillars of Cancer Prevention).   \n  \n\nThis talk provides information on the 7 pillars of cancer prevention  –\n\nAttendees will learn about what action they can take and simple choices they can make to reduce their chance of developing cancer by between 30 -50%. Skin cancer is the most common cancer type in Ireland so this will be discussed and information will be provided on what changes in the skin to look out for. \nBooking are being taken for the talk – please contact the Library on 051 – 640591 or email : carricklibrary@tipperarycoco.ie. \n

DESCRIPTION:Join us for our workshop when we will explore how we can manage anxiety and stress on a daily basis. (Part 1 of a 2 part series on 19th March 2024)\n\nDuring this workshop we will examine and reflect on our understanding of anxiety. We will discuss a range of topics including “is anxiety normal?” and “what causes anxiety?”. This session also includes a number of practical ways to manage anxiety adding to your recovery toolkit.\nThis workshop is part 1 in a series looking at Anxiety\, we would recommend that all attendees sign up for part 2 “Managing Anxiety”.\n\nJoin us for our workshop when we will explore how we can manage anxiety and stress.
