Carrick on Suir library is running a 6 week course during which you will learn how to apply paint to silk fabric stretched in a wooden frame. \nArtist Inseun Kim\, who has experience teaching fine art in Korea and also works as a tutor with STAG (Clonmel)\, will be our teacher. She says applying colour to silk can be regarded as a kind of art therapy based on the depth of colour created by the proper harmony of water and dyes and the tranquility brought by the harmony of the two materials. \nThe art classes are suitable for complete beginners and all materials will be supplied. DESCRIPTION:Maria Jordan-O’Reilly and Ani Morton from The Sketchbook Library of Ireland Project will be in Cashel Library to facilitate this workshop as part of the Bealtaine Festival. \nThe Sketchbook Library of Ireland Project aims to compile an archive of Irish creativity. Participants will create sketchbooks that “form physical testimonies of lives lived\, documented and shared”. “It’s not about being the best artist\,” Maria says\, “it’s about encouraging everybody to access that creativity.” \nWhen participants return their finished sketchbooks\, they are catalogued and added to the permanent collection\, creating a time capsule of creativity for generations to come. \nPlaces are limited on this workshop. SUMMARY:Random Artists Tipperary South(R.A.T.S) Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:R.A.T.S or Random Artists Tipperary South is a recently made group\, open to Artists from Clonmel and the surrounding areas. It was founded by Eoin De Leaster and David Anchell in November 22′. \n  \nThe group has a large variety of artists\, with disciplines ranging from oil\, acrylic and watercolourists\, sculpture\, visual art and installation. \n  \nThe group meet every few weeks in the Donaghmore club to hold meetings and to plan and prepare for upcoming events. \n  \nThey also frequent their local Phil Carrolls for a different kind of meeting\, a relaxed social chat to talk about current projects\, to ask for ideas/ inspiration about using new mediums and to enjoy a pint while doing so! \n  \nThe group has exhibited in the Donaghmore club and at When Next We Meet in 2023. \n  \nThis current double exhibition showcases the artists progression of works\, responding to the collection in the Museum of Hidden History. \n  \nThe works on display here in the library\, are to give the public an up close view of the different styles and talents from these local artists.
