Cashel Day Care Centre & Cashel Arts Fest: Memories Book Launch
Cashel Arts Festival engage with community groups in an annual Out Reach Programme. ‘Memories’ was the theme chosen for the 2015 programme for those attending Cashel Day Care Centre. Over a period of weeks, the ladies and gentlemen attending the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday sessions brought in mementos of special significance and/or recalled a memory that they cherished.. Many also agreed to be interviewed on audio by Anne Devitt. The culmination of these recollections and mementoes have been gathered in memories books and on tape – one for each day that Day Care takes place

“Carving History” an exhibition by wood carver Phil Bourke
It commemorates the Signatories of the 1916 Proclamation and members of Cumann na mBan. There is an accompanying short video presentation by the craftsman in which he explains the inspiration behind this body of work and what it means to him on a personal level. Phil is a well known wood sculptor in his 90th year and his work can be seen in many Tipperary locations, including The Kilcommon Prayer Garden and Upperchurch. All are welcome to view this unique exhibition during usual library opening hours – the collection will be on display until the end of May.

Hereford Mappa Mundi: Exhibition for the month of May
The Hereford Mappa Mundi is a world map that was drawn in the late 13th Century and an exact replica produced by the Folio Society is on display in Roscrea library during the month of May. The largest surviving map of its kind, it depicts the then known world as perceived by the scholars of the medieval British Isles. This intriguing medieval artefact is accompanied by an introductory video and slideshow.
