The Teenage Book Club read and reviewed ‘If you were me’.  What a great read!  The author  has had a very exciting and varied life and spent many years making documentaries for the BBC.  Her zest for good storytelling is certainly reflected in this teenage book.  Its set in Afghanistan originally with Aliya and her family escaping and finding refuge in England.  This is a rollercoaster of a read, fast paced, tense and thrilling.  The characters are so well developed and will keep you on the edge of your seat. Highly recommended for teens, crossover into adults but also suited to good 10-12 readers.
