Thurles library held its fun day last Saturday 23rd June as part of the Cruinniu na nÓg celebration. The day was filled many free events for all age groups. Jelly Bean Julie entertained the younger children with plenty of magic, ballooning and music from early morning! The drumming workshop under the direction of Fergal O’Connor basked in the sunshine on the boardwalk and brought all ages together to put a huge range of beats LearnIt were a huge success with 3 robotics workshops, the children were given a picture on the laptops provided and then asked to gather the pieces to create the design. A fun filled afternoon for all those who love to create using Lego! Princess Poppy paid a visit to the Summer Stars Launch for some photos which took place in the morning all children are encouraged to participate in the reading challenge 2018. Those registered received their reading pack with everything they need to start their reading adventure this summer! Story-time had some great stories “Dave” the fantastic cat who got stuck in the cat flap was very popular with some very interesting stories of beans following the end of the story! Chase from Paw Patrol popped into to see the boys and girls! Lots of photos were taken with Chase who has a huge fan base in Thurles! Danielle Martin was a very busy lady she managed to do fantastic face-painting on the children, co-ordinate our pavement art outside the children had some great designs which are still visible this morning and to top it all she provided a workshop where the children made mosque pieces with tiles and loads of sequins to take home. The staff would like to thank all those who entertained throughout the day and all the families who came along on the day to make our fun day a huge success!
