How do I access Universal Class?

First of all, click on this link: Universal Class. This will bring you to the Universal Class registration portal.

  •         Next, click on the “Register Now” button.
  •         Enter you Library Card (Barcode) number.
  •         Now you will be asked to enter some details and create a Password.  There is also an “Age Check” tick box.
  •         Once complete click on the “Terms of Service” box and hit “Continue”.

And that’s it! You are ready to start learning

How do I find the course I want?

Once you have registered and are ready to browse you can look through the “Course Recommendations” slider or, below that, you will see an area where courses are divided up into different categories. Alternatively, you can hit the “Browse Course” button at the top of the screen and a “I want to learn …” search option appears. Just type a keyword in to find your desired course. For example, if you are looking to do a photography course just type in “photography” and that will bring up a list of options for you.

What do I do once I have found my course?

Just click on the course to bring up the course description screen. This gives you more details about it. If you are satisfied that this is what you want to study hit the “Join this Course” button then confirm you want to join by clicking “Join this Class” button. Now you are signed up and ready to start!

Are there time limits on courses?

Absolutely not. Universal Class is all about learning at your own pace in your own time. You can take as long as you want to complete the course. After finishing a session you can return at any time and resume where you left off.

Are there exams?

Usually, at the end of each module of a course, there is a short exam based on what you have just read. The exams are only there to reinforce learning. There are also some suggested extra research options offered if you wish to bolster your learning further.
