Technology

Tipperary Library Service offers a selection of technological items and services that all members can avail of.

3D printers in selected branches can be booked for use by members, who can supply a digital file for what they want to create. There is no charge for using this service.

Our Clonmel, Thurles, Nenagh, Cashel and Carrick-On-Suir branches have Magic Tables, innovative new devices that project interactive games and vibrant images on to a table or the floor. They respond to user movements via infrared sensors.

We also offer literacy and digital technology aids such as C-Pens and ACORN tablets. Carrick-On-Suir library has a Library Citizen Science Kit available to borrow. In addition to this all of our branches offer FREE public PC access, FREE WiFi, Eduroam WiFi access for students, photocopying, printing and scanning.

Branches regularly have STEAM based events and workshops such as Clonmel’s Lego Coding Club which uses Lego Spike Prime kits to construct robots and use basic code to programme actions and movements. Cashel library also run a similar programme using Lego robots with microbit computers to teach children the basics of coding.
