Research and Resources

Tipperary County Council Library Service provides invaluable research aids and resources geared toward assisting all members with their informational needs. Our national catalogue offers over 12 million books and online resources. You can order items from any library in the country to be delivered to your local branch.

In terms of archival databases, members are able to access the JSTOR journals archive, the Irish Newspapers archive and the Irish times archive. These can be accessed in branch using our Public PCs. We also have an enormous catalogue of local history material accessible via our Local Studies, Digital Archive and Great War Dead websites.

Our ongoing digitisation project aims to make our vast archive of historical and genealogical sources available online with new material, catalogued using Dublin Core metadata elements, being added regularly. You can also contact our local history department at studies@tipperarycoco.ie should you have any research-based enquiries that we can help with.
