
Martin Ryan from 4 August to 31 August. The official opening takes
place on Saturday 8 August at 11am.
Martin has received awards from the Irish Woodturners Guild (IWG) and
Design & Crafts Council Ireland (DCCI), and his work has previously
been exhibited in Thurles, Templemore and at Somerset House, London.
In 2022 his work was featured on RTÉ’s Nationwide.
Works on display will include a vase incorporating the Rock of Cashel
in its design and a vase incorporating Holycross Abbey, along with
pieces drawing on Greek, Native American and Arabic cultures.
His commissions include work for the Irish-Portuguese Golf Society and
other golf clubs, as well as prizes for jockeys and trainers. Pieces
have been purchased by private collectors in Ireland and by buyers in
France and the USA.
At the official opening, Martin will unveil one of his most
significant works to date. It stands 59 inches tall and 18 inches wide
and is made up of over 1,000 pieces of wood.
Admission is free and the exhibition is open during normal library hours.
