Public Consultation – Proposed New Library for Clonmel

Tipperary County Council is pleased to announce plans for the development of a new Public Library in the heart of Clonmel and have submitted a Part 8 Planning application for this project.

The proposed library will be located on a site adjacent to the Tipperary County Council Offices on Emmet Street, Clonmel. The new facility will provide approximately 1,968m² of modern library accommodation, including reading rooms, exhibition and display areas, meeting spaces, and a range of community-focused facilities.

This exciting project represents a significant investment in Clonmel’s cultural, educational and community infrastructure, creating a welcoming and accessible space for people of all ages.

We would like to hear your views, ideas and feedback on the proposed development. Your input will help inform the planning process and contribute to the future of library services in Clonmel.

As part of the public consultation process, a drop-in information session will take place on:

  • Wednesday 15th July
  • 3.00pm – 7.00pm
  • Clonmel Library, Mick Delahunty Square, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary. E91 YW66

Members of the project design team will be available to present the proposals, answer questions and listen to your feedback. We encourage everyone with an interest in the project to attend.

In addition, plans and particulars of the proposed development, including Appropriate Assessment Screening Reports and EIA Screening Report are available for inspection or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy at: –

Any person may, within 4 weeks from the date of this notice, apply to An Coimisiún Pleanála for a screening determination as to whether the development would be likely to have significant effects on the environment.
