Around Our Town Ep. 7 – Old Saint Mary’s (Part 2) – The East Window

The East Window in Old Saint Marys is a stunning example of a Gothic Stain Glass Window. S. Watson in his book A Dinner of Herbs (Page 100) tells us that the window was installed late 15c. Dismantled and reassembled early 19c. Stained glass put in upper tracery 1840, and in lower lights 1933.

Around our town is a project being undertaken by Clonmel Library and local Clonmel man Shay Hurley. Over the coming weeks we will take a closer look at some of the town’s historical places of interest
