Around Our Town

“Around Our Town” was a local history project undertaken by Clonmel Library from November 2020 to March 2022. Over 45 episodes the architecture, geography, plaques and signage, local nobility, news stories and noted characters of Clonmel were all explored via a mix of videos, photos and written text.

This carefully curated collection of historical nuggets provides an intriguing portal into the complexion of Clonmel. Exploring everything from the gothic stained-glass windows in Old St. Mary’s Church to the Tipperary banking collapse of 1856, “Around Our Town” is a must for any amateur historian or any Clonmel native interested in learning more about the rich heritage of their hometown.
